The Age Of L.U.N.A

The Age Of L.U.N.A is a proudly organic rebellion; a group of young Londoners that intend to force musicality and consciousness back into mainstream rap music.

Despite an average age of 18, the quartet boast an impressively diverse and timeless range of influences, from Fela Kuti to A Tribe Called Quest and Erykah Badu to Tears For Fears. While their individual idols differ, the group - comprised of two rappers, a vocalist and a producer - all share a love of 90’s hip-hop, with its focus on instrumentation and conscious lyricism.

INTRODUCING: The Age Of L.U.N.A
The Age Of L.U.N.A, the latest addition to the Believe Recordings family, are premiering their track 'Six Feet Deep' over on Noisey. The hip hop band, who have an average age of 18, were dubbed one of 2015's 'Ones To Watch' by Semtext last Friday on BBC Radio 1 Xtra. "Think about soulful music - songs by Erykah Badu, Tribe Called Quest, Fela Kuti; tracks that've been infused with unrelenting energy for life. Combine those earthly influences with a British accent and you've got Age Of L.U.N.A, one of the few British rap groups who, despite being an average age of 18, are standing above hashtag themed rap to create something more wholesome than a forgettable hook. Having formed back in 2013, the group are starting this year on a wave with the release of new track "Six Feet Deep", which we're premiering above. Listen and you'll hear elements of fellow Londoners Hawk House, Chance the Rapper, and production that's indebted to the likes of Soulelection, Iman Omari, and the array of delectable rarities that can be found when spending hours getting lost on Soundcloud."
