Rising singer-songwriter Andreas Moe announces the release of brand new EP ‘Borderline’.
Born and raised in Stockholm, Andreas strove to become a professional ice hockey player before realising that music was the only route for him.“I grew up in a southern suburb called Skogås with a hockey stick in my hand." Andreas recalls. “I remember how my dad used to play me his favourite records and show me his Gibson Les Paul. But it wasn't until I was fifteen I understood that I wanted to do music for a living. I started writing songs and melodies straight away, as if they'd always been inside of me all this time”.
On his latest EP, Andreas’ blend of folk-driven acoustic arrangements are played out over four stunning tracks, lead by new single ‘Borderline’. Finger-picking a gentle melody on the guitar, an incessant bass drum edges beneath Andreas’ vocal, developing the song into a passionate march. Building with trumpets, the song grows into a foot-stomping folk ballad as the blend of mellow guitar, driven drums and epic brass build layers underneath Andreas’ heartfelt vocal.
An ode to overcoming the difficulties of modern love, Andreas says of ‘Borderline’ - “There are always problems even in the most perfect of loves but then one day, you cross the "borderline" to a place where you understand each other perfectly, where there are no more fights, disagreements only love”
Andreas’ romantic tendencies are also present in ‘Step Down From It’, a song which the singer claims was written in the throes of passion. “It's about trying to make someone that you love very much to see that there's life and hope on the other side of that wall she's built to protect herself from love. That her heart is safe with me.”
The singer - who has already had the opportunity to play with the likes of John Mayer, Kodaline, Gabrielle Aplin and Lewis Watson - played at The Great Escape Festival this year as well as the Songbird Sessions across the Netherlands alongside Rae Morris.
